Bequest

Leaving a gift in your Will

To carry out its vital work Legacy is reliant on contributions from the community; bequests make up a significant part of these contributions. After carefully considering your family and friends in your Will, making a bequest to Legacy ensures that you will be well remembered and leave a lasting legacy which will continue to make a difference well into the future.

Including a charity like Legacy in your will is one of the most powerful ways to make a difference.

There are a number of different ways you can remember Legacy in your Will.  We encourage you to consider which type of bequest is most appropriate for you.

  • A specific dollar amount
  • A percentage of your total estate
  • The residue of your estate - this means what is left of your estate after your loved ones have been provided for
  • A percentage of the residue of your estate
  • Items of value (such as real estate, shares etc)
  • Life insurance policies and annuities

If you would like more information about making your Will or leaving a bequest to Legacy, or if you need assistance in finding a solicitor in your area, please contact Legacy Club of South Australia and Broken Hill Inc.

Legal wording for naming Legacy in your Will:

'I give to the Legacy Club of South Australia and Broken Hill Inc.  Welfare Fund ABN 48 827 750 273, Torrens Parade Ground, Victoria Drive, Adelaide SA 5000:

a) the sum of $__________ free of all deductions, or

b) _____% of my estate, or

c) the residue of my estate, or

d) (insert any other thing)

to be used for the general purpose of the said Fund, and I direct that the receipt of any of the members of the Board of Management of the Fund shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor/s who is/are not bound to see its application.

In Loving Memory - In Lieu of Flowers

At Legacy we appreciate the profound sadness associated with losing a loved one, may we offer our sincere condolences if you are selecting this type of support. A gift in lieu of flowers at the funeral of a loved one or dear friend can be an immensely rewarding way to honour their memory. By encouraging those who attend the service to donate, your loved one's support of Legacy can continue. Please ask your Funeral Director to contact us to provide special envelopes for the funeral service.
