Legacy Club of South Australia (SA) and Broken Hill (BH) is excited to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Matthews CSM as the organisation’s new Executive Officer.

Mr Matthews brings a wealth of experience in senior leadership and the non-profit sector, most recently as Asia Pacific Director for sustainable agribusiness accelerator Business for Development.

As the incoming Executive Officer, Mr Matthews is passionate to continue the Legacy promise to look after the partners and the children of Australian veterans.

“It’s a great privilege to be at the helm of an organisation that does so much for the families of our servicemen and women. I’m keen to develop sustainable growth within Legacy Club of SA and BH whilst remaining true to the spirit of Legacy, with my main purpose to continue to keep the promise to support and care for all veteran’s families,” Mr Matthews said.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr Mark Bourchier OAM KSJ said “To have Legacy in such good hands as Mark’s heading into the new year is encouraging. I’m confident that Mark’s comprehensive business experience, his lived experience from service in the Australian Army and his volunteer experience as a Legatee will lead Legacy in the right direction for the future.”

Mr Matthews served in the Australian Army for 21 years and was awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal (CSM) for Humanitarian Relief in Irian Jaya in 1998.
